Some background as you scroll down to watch...

In 2006, during the season of Lent, for 40 days and 40 nights, The McPassion streamed online and ignited heated (sometimes vicious) debate.

On March 1, 2006, Ash Wednesday, we unleashed our satirical short into cyberspace.  Almost immediately, people began “ripping” the video from this website and started posting it elsewhere online, such as YouTube and countless blogs.

Literally, it exploded so fast we could barely keep up.  Daily, we struggled against unauthorized streaming in the hopes that our parody would not be taken out of context and would be viewed along with the explanation and discussion available here, at its official website.  We were naïve.

Then, at midnight on April 15, 2006, Holy Saturday, the Internet run of The McPassion ended with a tally of nearly 260,000 hits, not counting the views and downloads from unauthorized sites.  After we discontinued online streaming, the film successfully traveled the festival circuit for about a year.  Throughout that time, The McPassion continued to pop-up online without our approval. So, eventually, we caved.

Even though this website will no longer be actively updated, but instead remain primarily as a record of those 40 days and 40 nights in 2006, The McPassion is now available to view online via YouTube.  You can watch it now, and comment there if you’d like, by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
